At Mindset Children’s Home, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their past experiences or current challenges. We are registering with Ofsted to provide exceptional residential care for up to two children and young people aged 5–17 who have experienced trauma and display emotional and behavioural difficulties, in a small, nurturing, family-style home in Leicestershire.
Our practice is grounded in Empathic Behaviour Management (EBM), PACE (playfulness, acceptance, curiosity and empathy) and DDP-informed approaches, supported by individual Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans and consultation with clinical psychologists. We see behaviour as communication and respond with connection before correction.
Each young person receives a bespoke care plan that addresses their unique emotional, educational, and behavioural needs. Our comprehensive assessments ensure every aspect of their development is supported with measurable goals.
Our practice combines EBM, PACE and DDP-informed approaches with individual Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans. We respond to behaviour as communication, using connection before correction, supported by clinical psychology consultation.
Our structured framework prepares young people for successful adulthood by systematically building essential life skills, confidence, and autonomy through practical, real-world experiences and supported practice.
We maintain close working relationships with families, schools, social services, and allied professionals to ensure holistic, coordinated care that supports long-term success and sustainable outcomes.
Our staff are trained to recognise and respond to the impact of trauma, creating safe, predictable environments that promote recovery, emotional regulation and resilience. Physical intervention (PMVA) is always a last resort, used only to prevent harm.
We regularly review and adjust our approaches based on outcomes data and young person feedback, ensuring each individual receives the most effective interventions and support for their continued growth.
